The department’s activities cover a range of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Day Case Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Plastics, Dental and Maxillofacial surgery. A consultant led service for ICU, Obstetrics, Acute & Chronic Pain is also provided. The department is recognised by the Royal College of Anaesthetists for Schedule l Training.
Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council (London) with a licence to practice. Possession of the primary FRCA or equivalent is desirable. Applications from clinicians unable to work full-time will also be considered.
The post holder will be required to support the Anaesthesia & Critical Care team, and their main responsibilities are to provide and organise management of General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology & obstetric patients.
As part of their duties the post holder will be involved in audit, research, teaching and supervision of junior staff.
