Bookkeeper - Vat Clerk

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of basic personal tax returns
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Bookkeeping
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
- Respond to client enquiries in line with the firm's policies (including answering calls)
- Undertake other duties as requested by management within the scope of the role
**Essential Requirements**:
- Very good communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
**Work Remotely**:
- No longer available as an option
**Expectations**:
- Maintain up to date knowledge of VAT
- Dress in accordance to the firm's general guidelines
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment as endorsed by RUS Chartered Accountants
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken
- Strong computer skills (including accurate and fast typing skills
- High levels of attention to detail & accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Common sense and initiative
- Excellent organisation skills
**Experience & Education**:
- Accounts and VAT experience - ideally 1 year in practice (not compulsory)
- GCSE - C (or better) in both Maths & English (or equivalent)
