**Job Title**:
Early Years Family Group Worker

**Employer**:
Kidz-Eco CIC

**Hours**:
21 hours per week (will include 1 Saturday per month)

**Contract**:
12 months (with possible extension)

**Leave**:
28 days annual leave (inclusive of public holidays) pro rata

**Salary**:
£24,552 - £29,279 (pro rata)

**Pension**:
3% employer’s and minimum 5% employee contribution

**Probationary Period**:
3 months

The main duties and responsibilities of the post will be:

- **Deliver Group Work Sessions**: Plan and facilitate regular sessions for families with children under 5, including Bookbug, PEEP, and other early years classes.
- **Family Support**: Provide support and guidance to parents and caregivers, helping them to engage in their children's learning and development.
- **Activity Planning**: Design and implement a range of stimulating activities that promote early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
- **Community Engagement**: Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages community involvement and peer support among families.
- **Resource Management**: Ensure the availability of appropriate materials and resources for all group sessions and maintain an organised and safe space for activities.
- **Monitoring and Evaluation**: Assess the effectiveness of sessions through feedback and observation and make necessary adjustments to improve program delivery.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other team members, volunteers, and external partners to enhance the support network available to families.
- **Training and Development**: Stay updated with best practices in early years education and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- **Duty Officer**: Working as part of a small team you will be required to work in the Kidz n Kin café on a rotational basis.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**Essential Criteria**
A relevant qualification (HNC, SCQF Level 7 equivalent or SVQ 3) in Childcare and Education, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field

Proven experience of working with young children and their families preferably in a group setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to plan and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, delivering to schedule

Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation techniques

Understanding of child development and early years education principles

Empathy, patience and a non-judgmental approach to supporting families

A commitment to working towards the concept of inclusion

Awareness of Child Protection guidelines and relevant legislation

Competent in MS Office packages and social media

Hold a current driving license and have access to a vehicle

**Desirable Criteria**

First Aid certification

Awareness of food hygiene standards

Understanding of the third sector and social enterprise

Commitment to and understanding of the mission and values of Kidzeco

**Additional Requirements**

This role requires membership of the PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) scheme Disclosure Check
