The Revenues and Benefits service has a vital role in the billing and collection of Council Tax, Business Rates, administration, and assessment of Benefits.

The Technical Control Team are pivotal in maintaining and developing the systems used by the Revenues and Benefits service involving implementing new releases and functionality, that could provide more efficient and effective service delivery. This also includes managing our online customer portals for Council tax and Benefits.

This is an interesting and varied role managing and developing a team of system officers covering multiple areas - Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefits which will be solution driven and key in implementing projects and developments as well as annual billing and benefits year end processes, including supplying vital performance and financial reports through which Revenues and Benefits services can be monitored.
- Significant working knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, Benefits or Subsidy legislation and working practices
- Ideally experience of NEC Revenues and Benefits system. Alternative relevant experience on other equivalent Revenues & Benefits systems will be considered.
- Ability to work methodically, accurately, and to agreed deadlines.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical requirements

Strong IT skills are essential for the role and will be assessed as part of the recruitment process.
