Purchase Ledger/accounts Assistant

The Post Holder will provide administration support in the Accounts Department, reporting directly to the Finance Manager and working alongside two other team members.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Running the purchase ledger function for two branches.
- Collation of supplier invoices, coding appropriately and directing to relevant member of staff for authorisation (matching, checking and coding invoices).
- Scanning and attaching documentation on to our bespoke system.
- Post authorised invoices on to our bespoke system and arranging for payment to be made within the required timescales.
- Dealing with supplier queries in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
- Answering the telephone for all incoming external calls to the department.
- Assisting with monthly supplier payment runs and allocation of payments against supplier accounts.
- Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details.
- General administration support across the finance team and any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Finance Manager.
**Person Specification**:
- AAT or equivalent (Desirable).
- A minimum of two years’ experience working n a busy accounts department.
- Recent accounts administration experience and good computer skills.
- Be able to communicate confidently both in person and by telephone.
- The ability to work both independently and with direction is a necessity.

- Ability to work under pressure and alone.
- High level of organisation skills.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Ability to use own initiative.
**Schedule**
- 37.5-hour week, Monday to Friday to be worked between 8.00am - 5.00pm, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. Times can be discussed and agreed at interview.
