Medway Parents and Carers Forum is looking for an energetic and committed colleague to help deliver Medway's Parent and Carer Panel.

Medway Parents and Carers Forum (MPCF) have been commissioned by Medway Council to set up the Medway Start for Life Parent Carer Panel as part of a government initiative around service in Family Hubs.

Parent carer experience and co-production must be at the heart of the service to ensure it meets the needs of families. Families who use the services provided by Medway’s hubs are being invited to share their experiences.

The Parent and Carer Panel Project officer will work with parent carers to collect information and provide support to empower parent carers to form a self-sustaining panel. This will be in a variety of ways, including telephone, virtual and face-to-face appointments and drop-in sessions in local communities.
- Recruiting panel members
- Facilitating and attending meetings
- Build positive relationships with parent carers, helping them to feel comfortable when sharing their experiences.
- Build positive relationships with local communities and Family Hubs
- Ensure that parent carers and their experiences are at the heart of the service.
- Complete reports as requested

This may be amended from time to time in accordance with the changing needs of the project.

Essential knowledge and skills
- Flexibility - an amount of evening/weekend work may be required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in an accessible manner for a variety of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated; high level of initiative and ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- A non-judgemental attitude.

Desirable knowledge and skills
- Own transport and full clean driving license
- Experience of working with community groups
