We are seeking to appoint a practical Technical Demonstrator in forensics to be based at the University of Greenwich Medway Campus. The role holder will provide practical demonstrations and support to foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students within the School of Science.

Working closely with the technicians, the Demonstrator will be responsible for supporting student learning, teaching and research across the portfolio of forensic disciplines including help with students’ projects. The role holder will assist students in a practical way to uncover and examine contact trace material associated with crimes. Support for our crime scene to court structure will include the post holder assisting students in attending and examining the scenes of crime; sifting and sorting evidence; recording findings and collecting trace evidence; inputting relevant data into computer programs and making of notes and plans to record the scene.

During term time, you will support teaching sessions in labs and working closely with the technicians contribute to maintaining the relevant work areas used for practical teaching

Outside of teaching time, you will form part of the School’s core technical team; supporting research activity, technical infrastructure and health and safety, and carrying out administrative duties as well as supervising post graduate project work.

Applicants for this post will be educated to Degree level in Forensic Science and have experience in working in a forensic teaching laboratory. Experience of delivering outreach activities would be advantageous. This is a full time position.
