We are pleased to be offering an exciting opportunity for a departmental administrators on an 12 month fixed term (seconded) contract to support the NUH Pathology team with the implementation of our new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and to join 3 colleagues already working in this role. The new LIMS system is a joint procurement exercise with Sherwood Forest Hospitals.

**Main duties of the job**:

The main focus of the role is to provide day-to-day management of the Departments’ administrative functions linked to the implementation of the LIMS system. The role also includes provision of administrative support to the Service Managers; the Technical team supporting the implementation of the new LIMS system and supporting the Path IT team as required.
Main job duties would be the generation and collation of documentation linked to the LIMS installation such as testing scripts as well as arrangement of meetings, taking minutes and generating action logs as well as gathering information from service users, and suppliers..

The Pathology Care Group sits in the Division of Cancer and Associated specialties, and is made up of Clinical Pathology, Cellular Pathology Microbiology, and Genomics & Molecular Medicine.
Our team are made up of Clinical; Scientific & technical; administrative and ICT personnel who work closely together across the differing disciplines to provide a 24/7 service our users.
**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
**Under the direction of the Service Manager to**:
Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the department administrative functions.
With reference to the Department Service Manager or deputy and technical leads manage the project implementation and required documentation for the new LIMS implementation.
Assist in Human Resource activities including staff training and development, and evaluation procedures for all staff related to the LIMS project
Assist in and provide advice regarding the development of policy and procedures related to the new LIMS system.
Maintain and develop Standard Operating Procedures and other protocols for tasks linked to LIMS usage according to department policy
Ensure adequate communication regarding LIMS issues with other department sections, including attendance at appropriate department meetings.
Take minutes at department meetings as required.
Act as a contact point for other Service Managers and other Trust staff as required; provide reception support for visitors to the department.
Comply with Trust policies and national legislation regarding confidentiality of patient information, the Data Protection Act 1998 and Health and safety law.
To keep abreast of NHS IT guidelines and ensure teams follow these policies including IT security and data protection
Work flexibly and undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade as required.
Participate in Joint Annual Personal Development Review with line Managers.
