The trauma coordinator will work as part of the trauma co-ordinator team as directed by the Head of Nursing. The focus of the role is to coordinate and plan the flows of trauma patients through the service. The trauma coordinator will support and empower all health care workers and patients by managing the trauma flows and providing education, advice and clinical expertise. The trauma coordinator will forge excellent working relationships with A&E, Fracture Clinic, all orthopaedics wards at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital, The Sussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre, all Theatre departments where orthopaedic surgery is undertaken.

The post holder will actively improve and enhance interdepartmental communication to ensure patients are treated in a timely manner according to their agreed clinical priority.
