**Job Overview**

The role holder will join us at an exciting time as we seek to deliver our long term ambitious D&I Strategy as part of our commitments under the Mayors Transport Strategy. The role holder will be part of a strategic Diversity and Inclusion team and will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation to ensure deliver on our promise to our people and embed a truly inclusive culture. The role holder will assist in delivering targeted data driven programmes, campaigns and initiatives, that will deliver meaningful change for all our colleagues. This work will touch all corners of the organisation, and include some of the most challenging, but rewarding topics.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Act as initial point of contact for queries from external agencies, internal stakeholders, and colleagues. Understanding and assessing their individual needs, providing initial first line advice and guidance, signposting to suitable aligned specialists or other departments where appropriate.
- Support the D&I specialists to deliver priorities and activities as part of the D&I people strategy and deliverables
- Support the D&I team through innovation and research
- Assist in the creation and completion of key documentation including Pay Gap reports, support with data analysis
- Assist the D&I specialists and lead in their engagement with key business contacts and chief officers.
- This role will have access to sensitive D&I data about our colleagues, and as part of this role will include reviewing and carryout insightful analysis using metrics / reporting and identify issues, highlighting areas for improvement and assessing this data for analysis and making recommendations and areas of focus.
- Acting as a D&I advocate and able to confidently influence across a range of stakeholders, communicate effectively

**Knowledge**
- Working knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (essential)
- A good understanding/awareness of the Equality Act 2010 (essential)
- A good understanding/awareness of Public Sector Equality Duty
- An understanding/awareness of The Mayor’s Transport Strategy and his Inclusive London strategy (desirable)
- An awareness of external developments and best practice in the areas of equality, diversity and inclusion and accessibility (essential)
- Knowledge of the issues, barriers and benefits related to the recruitment, retention, and inclusion of staff members with different protected characteristics as well as wider groups who may be marginalised at work ( essential)

**Skills**
- Confident ability to contribute to projects, self-motivated and independent with record of taking ownership for delivery of tasks (essential)
- Ability to analyse and interpret data from a variety of sources (essential)
- Able to translate the strategy and agreed deliverables into achievable plans and campaigns (desirable)

- Experience of a diversity and inclusion environment within a complex organisation with proven ability to deliver diversity and inclusion changes to support the diversity and inclusion agenda (essential)

- Experience of supporting the delivery of change within a large, complex and unionised environment (desirable)
- Experience of problem solving (essential)
