All Ages Safeguarding Lead

Work closely with named and designated safeguarding colleagues across Kent and Medway engaging with relevant professional forums. To ensure high standards of safeguarding practice are delivered to the children, Vulnerable adults, their families and carers at risk in partnership with all members of the internal and external multi
- disciplinary team. To lead all activities necessary to ensure the organisation meets its statutory responsibilities in safeguarding including policy development, training, implementation, monitoring and audit. Effectively communicate highly complex, sensitive and distressing information concerning safeguarding in a variety of disciplines and teams.
To review and analyse complex data, situations and issues and ensure that risk is identified and appropriately managed. Work in partnership with multiagency partners including the police and social care on health matters with regard to safeguarding across the organisation and the wider community. Ensure the provision of day-to-day support and expert advice for all staff in the organisation regarding safeguarding issues and concerns. Provide support to colleagues in their work with patients and clients with safeguarding issues including issues such as but not restricted to, domestic violence, family breakdown, substance misuse, disability and mental health issues.
To review, collate and analyse complex information producing high quality reports and attend case conferences, strategy meetings and other safeguarding meetings ensuring high quality risk assessment and decision making throughout. Provide specialist education and training in relation to safeguarding for clinical and non-clinical staff across the organisation as determined by training needs analysis. To collate and analyse safeguarding data for reports and ensure lessons learnt are communicated across the organisation. To lead on the development and completion of audits in relation to safeguarding analyse and provide audit reports.
To ensure that lessons learnt from any serious case reviews and safeguarding adults reviews locally or nationally are reviewed and relevant actions implemented within the organisation. To provide leadership and consistency in the approach to safeguarding across the organisation. To review, develop and implement all policies relating to safeguarding across the organisation. To provide safeguarding supervision to organisation staff and provide support as required with report writing and attendance at appropriate safeguarding meetings as necessary.
To report alongside the Board lead to the Board and provide detailed assurance reports. To liaise with and report to /inform regulatory bodies as necessary. Professional Leadership and Management To Chair the practice safeguarding meetings alongside relevant clinical leads. To present safeguarding reports to the organisation Quality and Assurance Sub
- Committee meetings.
Ensuring key risks are identified and mitigation plans presented. To represent the organisation at relevant external meetings as required/ delegated, providing updates to the Head of Quality & Professional Standards. Provide expert advice and support on all aspects of safeguarding to staff. Provide expert advice to the organisation on the impacts of changes to safeguarding legislation, policy, statutory guidance and on the recommendations of any external reports, serious case reviews and safeguarding adult reviews.
Monitor and interpret changes to legislation and statutory guidance for safeguarding ensuring the organisations policies are updated in accordance with these changes. To be visible in the role and act as a point of contact for staff. Ensure at all times that the interests and well-being of children, young people and vulnerable adults are represented and their voice is heard. Attend safeguarding meetings and case conferences as required and provide support for other staff from the organisation who may be attending.
To adhere to the relevant professional code of conduct and to be accountable for practice in accordance with the code. Promote excellent communications, internally and externally to the organisation. Act as a role model for patient safety and support staff to deliver safe and effective care. Meet regularly with the Head of Quality and Professional Standards providing updates and reports on all matters relating to safeguarding.
To report directly to the Head of Quality & Professional Standards to ensure that the Board are fully informed of safeguarding issues within the organisation. This would include informing the Head of Quality & Professional Standards of any problems, complaints or untoward incidents within the organisation and ensuring that statutory obligations are fully met.
