Finance Manager / Bookkeeper required for a new, full-time role in the south of County Durham. The successful applicant will be required to manage and prepare all financial management accounting for use internally by management.
The Role
You will be required to:
Take the lead on all financial matters within the business to ensure that all financial information is up to date and ready to issue for the completion of the Management Accounts by an independent accountant.
Oversee all aspects of Purchase Ledger, Sales ledger, Cash Book, Payroll and General Ledger.
Manage Subcontractor Insurance and CIS Tax.
Prepare and submit VAT Returns to HMRC.
Produce monthly cashflow forecasts.
Produce and manage annual budget for review by management.
Liaise with external auditors and bank manager.
Debtor and retentions management
Responsible for stock and work in progress reporting.
Set up new customers and suppliers on Eque2 Construct.
Negotiate with external organisations to establish any grant funding which may be available.
Management of capital expenditure and fixed assets.
Source any finance/lease deals for vehicles, plant and machinery.
Source and negotiate company utilities supplier contracts.
Experience
Applicants will be qualified to AAT Technician Level, they will also have a number of years’ experience and have the ability and willingness to be “hands on” and help out as and when required. Strong IT skills are a must, in particular with Excel, coupled withthe ability to implement and then display systems that enable real time financial data. In addition to this, applicants must be excellent communicators, able to think quickly and articulate themselves clearly to the senior leadership team.
Remuneration
£28,000 to £33,000 per annum.
This is a permanent position and Corepeople Recruitment Limited will be acting as an employment agency for permanent recruitment on behalf of our client.
