**The Opportunity**
Talbot Rice Gallery (TRG) is seeking a Community Engagement Officer who is passionate about the visual arts and will contribute to developing, creating and sustaining stronger relationships within the University community and external local partners to ensure that TRG and its ambitious exhibition programme is integrated into the city and its communities.
Responsibilities include leading workshops, tours and activities to primary, secondary and higher education students and community groups; developing a robust community network in Edinburgh and surrounding areas capitalising on the university context.
As a member of TRG’s small, highly valued team, you will play an important part in shaping the organisation over the coming years.
**Skills and Attributes for Success**
- Experience of devising, delivering, and managing community engagement and outreach projects
- Highly organised with an awareness of best practice in the field of community engagement
- Experience of working on engagement projects with schools, community groups and individuals
- Demonstrable passion for and knowledge of the visual arts
- Ability to speak confidently and communicate enthusiasm for visual art and exhibition-making to a wide range of stakeholders across various knowledge levels, including effectively engaging with children and vulnerable adults
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills, flexibility and ability to stay calm under pressure
