Orka Financial is working with a multi site retail business based in High Wycombe (hybrid, 3 days per week) to recruit a Senior Management Accountant role. Working in the clients fast-paced Finance department, this is a critical role with the primary aimto drive the finance agenda across multiple operational stakeholders. The role requires both accounting skillset and business partnering with key stakeholders across Commercial operations. This is an exciting career opportunity to make a significant differenceto business performance with management and development of a small team and direct and regular exposure to the Executive Board and senior managers across the business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Promote finance agenda - business partnering across all levels and teams, providing first class service to stakeholders, drive performance with analytical support, identifying process/efficiency improvements
- Ownership of month end close; preparation of reporting packs (Income statement; Balance sheet & capex), variance & KPI analysis including identification of and commentary on key performance drivers
- Manage and attend monthly P&L meetings with Executive Board and Commercial stakeholders.
- Management of £15m annual capex spend: Approval, reporting, budgeting & forecasting
- Key player in delivery of annual and monthly planning & budgeting cycles; including building budget/forecast models, as well as review of departmental submissions.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly qualitative/quantitative internal financial reports
- Financial accounting under UK GAAP and SOX governance
- Responsibility for accuracy of trial balance entries, general ledger and balance sheet review & reconciliation
- Manage two direct reports - set objectives, motivate, develop, and appraise to build a talented team
- Direct support to internal & external auditors
- Support/scope/production of systemic developments to drive simplification and automation of process

**Profile**:

- Commercially astute, highly motivated, self-driven individual; resourceful with problem solving attitude
- Previous management accounting experience is essential; strong numerically with accuracy, planning, organising and time management skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines - requires outstanding level of credibility, reliability, and accuracy
- Part-Qualified/Qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA; Retail/FMCG experience is preferred.
- Advanced MS skills: other analytical packages and training is available for the right individual
- Professional communication skills: ability to build strong relationships across senior stakeholders

**Salary**:
£50,000 - £60,000 + bonus + benefits
