**Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;**
**The Ringway Customer Services Team receive and answer customer queries about the highway maintenance service in Hertfordshire. These queries come in from County Members, MPs and Members of the Public. The Team log, prioritise and pass on the enquiries to the best place person in the Ringway Team to answer them. They may in certain cases answer queries without input from others if all the information is available.**
**The Team work very closely with Hertfordshire's Customer Services Team.**

**Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;**
**The key role requirements are**:
- **Assist in maintenance of Customer contact spreadsheet.**:
- **Reply to Customer queries where information is available.**:
- **Direct queries, when necessary, to suitable Colleagues and Managers for response.**:
- **Liaise with colleagues and Managers to meet timescales.**:
- **Assist Colleagues and Managers to compose suitable responses to Customers.**:
- **Assist external colleagues, particularly, Customer Service Centre in obtaining information.**:
- **To actively foster a positive staff morale.**

**Formal qualifications required;**
**A good level of formal education (A level standard) with a particular focus on English as you will be writing and editing customer responses**

**Skills required;**
**Familiarity with Confirm and Lagan would be beneficial (training provided)**
**Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and Outlook.**

**Experience required;**
**Experience in a customer facing role handling complaints is essential but other skills include**:
- **Experience of working with Customer, public, professional and politicians**:
- **Effective communication including the presentation of technical information to non-technical Customers**:
- **Proven ability to handle difficult Customers**

**Knowledge;**
**Knowledge of the Highway Maintenance sector is desirable but not essential**
**Experience in a customer facing role handling complaints is essential**
