My client is a household name, situated on the outskirts of Newport. They are looking to expand their team and as a result a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Finance Assistant has arisen. You will be working as part of a friendly, downto earth and busy team. You will be required to assist the Accounts Department with a variety of tasks including purchase/sales ledger cover.

The role would suit an individual that has worked within a transactional finance role previously, ideally within the construction, logistics, manufacturing or engineering sectors. You will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to prioritisetasks efficiently to ensure the office runs smoothly. You will have a desire to progress within the accountancy profession and long-term my client is happy to offer on the job training, in order for you to develop and progress within the role.

**Key responsibilities will include**:
1) Receiving and processing invoices onto the purchase ledger

2) Reconciliation of statements from suppliers

3) Assisting with payment runs

4) Matching and filing of invoices

5) Dealing with supplier queries

6) Posting of cash onto the sales ledger

7) Reconciling bank statements

8) Raising sales invoices and sending to customers

9) Assisting with the credit control function and chasing out-standing payments

**Person Specification**:
1) AAT studier essential or Graduate

2) It is vital you possess strong IT skills especially in the use of Microsoft Excel

3) Willingness and enthusiasm to learn

4) Ability to take direction, learn and roll up your sleeves in order to get the work done

5) Hungry and determined to succeed
