**Purpose of the post**:

- Review Cyngor Gwynedd’s arrangments on mental well-being and stress in the workplace/musculoskeletal both corporately, and locally within the Services.
- Develop a work stream on the current strategy which is based on the latest research and good practice within the field, with the intention of having a positive impact on the health and well-being of staff and in turn the Council's absence levels.
- Assisting in developing and introducing a new computer system for the Health, Safety and Well-being Team.
- Ensuring that the people of Gwynedd are central to everything we do.

**Responsibility for functions**:
**Main duties**:

- Research good practice and the latest developments in stress management and mental wellbeing in the workplace.
- Develop a stress management / mental wellbeing programme within the Council, at corporate level, as well as local strategies with individual teams.
- Collaborate with Occupational Health Unit officers to design an evidence-based health promotion programme. Establish a procedure for measuring the impact of that programme, including feedback from the Council's Wellbeing Staff questionnaire.
- Conduct I-Act training sessions and/or workshops with staff and managers on stress / mental wellbeing / health and safety computer system issues.
- Carry out presentations to management teams on stress management / mental wellbeing / health and safety computer system issues.
- Assist managers in interpreting stress illness absence statistics corporately and within individual services, producing reports.
- Produce information packs and resources for staff and managers about stress / mental wellbeing.
- Collaborate with external organisations e.g. Public Health Wales and Mind Cymru on mental wellbeing issues, to identify any good / best practice that can be implemented.
- Contribute to a review of current Council documentation e.g. mental wellbeing policy, stress risk assessment, health and safety computer system instructions.
- Attend and contrinute to relevant meetings for research and/or establish new arrangements.
- Working with the Information Technology Service to create a programme of work to deliver a new computer system across the Council.
