Planning In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Digital Intelligence, Head of Business Intelligence and Head of Corporate Intelligence, develop and formulate long term strategic plans for the delivery of business intelligence, which support the delivery of the Health Boards IM&T objectives, the National IM&T framework and the Health Boards strategic direction and clinical strategies, which necessitates frequent prolonged concentration. Develop toolkits, reports and dashboards that directly address individual SDG and wider organisational requirements to provide evidence based information that enable hindsight, insights and foresight. Enable the Digital Intelligence Department to realise the ambitions set out within the Health Boards Digital Intelligence Strategy in order to provide stakeholders including Clinicians and Executives with instant access to robust, reliable and fit for purpose information that allows the user to manipulate, comment, communicate and create information reports. Work directly with SDGs to gather requirements, prioritise work packages and then design, develop and implement resultant Business Intelligence Solutions.

Providing users with seamless access to information to support service delivery, improvement and management. Support Health Board objectives for benchmarking services, further developing the use of comparative information facilities such as CHKS, ePEDW and other internal and external sources. Work in conjunction with SDGs and the wider Digital Intelligence Team Develop, implement and maintain training programmes for stakeholders in order for them to confidently use benchmarking services, internals tools and other external tools such as signals from noise (sfn) therefore increasing the organisations levels of data literacy. To be responsible for the review and completion of NHS Wales informatics Impact Assessments, which will involve liaising closely with clinical services to assess likely organisational, business and informatics impact of proposed changes to service, data standards/collections or information flows.

Formulate implementation plans for the introduction of all Data Set Change Notices and relevant Ministerial Letters. Provide expert informatics advice for IM&T projects, ensuring that IM&T systems and services are developed and implemented in line with national data definitions and standards. In addition, ensure that the information required for secondary uses is a by-product of the IM&T systems implemented to support operational healthcare processes. Provide informatics support to the Health Board Service Improvement Programme, promoting the use of information to support service development at all levels throughout the organisation.

Determine in conjunction with the Head of Business Intelligence and the Head of Corporate Intelligence, that the provision of information to the Service Delivery Groups and clinicians is suitable to: Support the effective and efficient provision of patient based services Meet the requirements of Healthcare Governance reporting Support audit requirements Support demand and capacity modelling Improve data literacy Enable benchmarking of best practice Ensure information is available to support Research and Development and Healthcare Governance agendas Regularly required to create, produce and provide reports to support the Health Board and Executive Team as required and ensure information related issues are reported corporately within the Health Board. Develop and implement performance management processes to monitor and improve performance of the Information Department. Ensure the Digital Intelligence service provided to Clinicians, Directors and other stakeholders continues to develop and improve through designing and implementing a programme of projects that are aligned to their needs and requirements. This will result in a conflict of priorities that the post holder will manage through the utilisation of skills such as negotiation etc.

Provide professional informatics advice and guidance for directorate based Information staff.This includes the management for the service aspirations and expectations in addition to managing resistance to change. Data Quality Responsible for the continual review and improvement of information production, ensuring data validity and consistency checks are inbuilt at all stages of the process. Responsible for the implementation and adherence to a change control and quality assurancepolicy.

To be responsible for the review and interpretation of the requirements of all NHS Wales Data set Change Notices (DSCNs) and relevant Ministerial Letters (MLs), to evaluate the impact onbusiness processes, IM&T systems and report production.
