An exciting opportunity is available to cover a period of 7 months within our Finance team.The role of Assistant Financial Accountant, reporting into the Financial Accountant is at an entry level which will provide a solid opening into the Finance profession.

**Who are we looking for?**
You should be a tenacious, confident self-starter, with an appetite to learn and strong attention to detail.

You’ll be working with teams across the organisation, including personnel at the company’s locations in the USA and Australasia.
Key attributes should include:

- Be highly organized and possess excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Be able to adapt to changing priorities, with the ability to multi-task being key.
- Excel & Microsoft Office knowledge is essential, as is the ability to work to strict deadlines.

**Key activities & responsibilities include**:

- Prepayments & Inter-Company - aspects of accounting and reconciliation
- Employee Expenses - shared involvement in aspects of the wider process.
- Import / export duty data reconciliation
- Preparing overheads departmental reports
- Analysis work, and assisting the wider Finance team on project work as required
- Investigating reconciling items to a satisfactory resolution.
- Management of petty cash, plus the ad-hoc banking of staff shop cash receipts.
- Posting accounting journals in the ledger as necessary in the areas of remit.
- Analysis work on tax sensitive types of expenditure.
- Responsibility for producing balance sheet reconciliations for the accounting areas within the remit of the role.

You should be a strong communicator, a professional approach and the ability to build relationships whilst liaising with key internal departments.

A basic understanding of double entry book-keeping is essential and ideally also VAT. Applicants should have an interest in pursuing a career in Finance or can demonstrate experience within the sector.
This role operates in a hybrid working pattern of office-based days and working from home.Head Office is based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire.
