We are seeking a reliable and focused Accountant to join our finance team.
As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and stability of our organisation. You will be responsible for a range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, payroll, tax and analysis. Your meticulous attention to detail and financial expertise will contribute to our overall success in providing quality housing services to our tenants. The numbers are important, but so is how we use those numbers.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will also be managing up to four team members, including an apprentice.
This role is a hybrid role with the expectation of splitting the time working from home and the office. We have offices in Central Dewsbury and in Harehills, Leeds.
**Responsibilities**:
Leading on the statutory accounts, payroll, tax and treasury as well as managing a small team delivering purchase ledger, sales ledger, cashbook functions.
We have two accountants who complement each other, with a shared job description, but the lines in bold in the accompanying JD are the tasks where the post holder will lead.
**Specification**:
ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent) qualification or substantial progress towards qualification
A background in improving finance systems and processes
Experience of Statutory Accounts preparation, payroll and general financial management, budgeting and forecasting
Experience of leading and managing staff
