We have a very exciting opportunity for 1 training place at Salford University on the MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner course. This is a 2-year, part-time course which commences inSeptember 2023. The post is based within the North Division Liaison Team.

In summary here is a brief outline of the opportunity and course requirements.
- MSc Advanced Practitioner (ACP)
- Funded through the Apprenticeship levy.
- Part-time = 2 full days per week at university
- Work based learning is integral to the success of the student.
- The ACP consists of advanced level training including physiology, mental health and advanced clinical reasoning.
- You MUST have Maths and English at GCSE Level with evidence of completion
- You MUST have a degree qualification at grade 2:2 or above

**Job Summary/Purpose**:
The Advanced Practitioner will be a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health care team. The Advanced Practitioner will have a personal case load and will be responsible for assessment, formulation and prescribing of care planning including discharge planning within agreed protocols. The post holder will be recognised as an expert practitioner in an identified field of practice, and will advise the Multi-Disciplinary team on expert, safe and effective models of care and treatment.

Trainee Advanced Practitioners will take up components of the role as competences are developed and are demonstrated in practice. The post holder will effectively be require to work across the range of services as determined by service user need.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Consultancy
- Provide senior clinical leadership within the MDT, contributing towards the assessment, treatment and evaluation of evidence base/care. Provide expert advice to other staff, professionals and external agencies on the assessment, treatment and evaluation of evidence-based care of service users with complex care needs. Provide expert advice to clinical staff within the service.

Clinical Leadership
- Lead on behalf of the Consultant Psychiatrist
- Lead on specific cases within the clinical team. Provide clinical leadership to the MDT. Lead on service and practice development initiatives as directed. Act as a role model to clinical staff by demonstrating leadership and expertise within the service and Trust. Provide leadership in relation to the service and Trust strategy. Provide interface between the Clinical Team and frontline staff. Routinely attend and contribute towards clinical team meetings, Care Programme Approach and My shared pathway meetings. Lead on the Recovery agenda for the clinical team
- Provide written reports for CTM, CPA and MSP meetings as directed by the Responsible Clinician. Update core documentation as instructed by the RC.

Clinical Assessment
- Assess service users' mental health, including psychopathology, medical history and physical health. Assess service users' problems, needs and strengths in order to inform their care and treatment. Undertake physical examinations supported by the agreed level of competency. Complete service users’ mental and physical health needs on a regular basis.

Training/Education
- Be willing to undertake and successfully complete the MSc in Advanced Practice
- Participate in developing and delivering training within the Service and Trust
- Participate in receiving training as agreed. Ensure all practice is evidence based and supported by current literature/research.
