WHAT TO EXPECT

The Supply Chain Sustainability team is part of the Supply Chain Strategy team and works to define and drive areas of strategic focus for the Supply Chain Organisation and the enterprise, particularly on long term supply chain sustainability initiatives.

Combining an in-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, sustainability legislation and trends, with a passion for leading transformative change, the team aims to deliver competitive advantage to JLR by collaborating across the business and with our supply chain partners to devise and deliver strategies that realise our ambitious environmental sustainability goals.

As a Sustainability Category Lead, you will play a key role in developing and standardising CO2e measurement across JLR’s supply base, specialising in Indirect procurement. You will work closely with key strategic suppliers to understand their decarbonisation roadmaps, share best practise and influence their sustainability policy to deliver meaningful change at scale. You will develop and provide key supply base insights, considering both existing and innovative new players, empowering buyers.

From the outset, you will have a unique opportunity to transform and shape JLR’s sustainability strategy by developing a data-led approach to supplier carbon management.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

**Knowledge, skills & experience**:

- Experience of CO2e measurement, preferably Scope 3.1 - Purchased Goods and Services.
- Strong knowledge of levers available to drive carbon reduction within the supply chain (i.e manufacturing operations, raw material sourcing, energy strategies).
- Experience of change management and delivering transformational change projects or high-impact process improvement.
- A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence cross-functional alignment.

**Essential**:

- Passionate about sustainability and able to inspire excitement and engagement in our sustainability transformation.
- Experience of indirect procurement or category management.
- Data-literate individual - comfortable working with complex & incomplete data sets to produce meaningful insights.
- Curiosity and a willingness to explore new ideas with the ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.
