Quality Technician
Overview:
The Quality Technician works hands-on in the Quality team performing inspection and investigation duties, processing customer returns and managing calibration of equipment.
Either building on existing experience within a similar role, or starting a new career within Quality, the Technician has a key role helping the team to achieve Quality goals and Continuous Improvement.
The Job Holder Is Expected To:

- Support the Quality & Systems Manager and Engineers, providing additional resource for the Quality, Continuous Improvement and Systems processes and improvement projects.
- RMAs (Returns Material Authorisation), conduct Containment and Investigative actions. Raise Purchase Returns Authorisations and return defective product to Suppliers. Expedite Suppliers response / reports and prepare reports for Customers.
- Collect Measuring & Test Equipment due for calibration, conduct inhouse calibrations and co-ordinate external service providers for externally calibrated/serviced equipment. Maintenance of Calibration database and return of Equipment to workstation.
- Maintain Document control, updating Aerco's Database of Controlled Specifications, QMS documentation, Records etc. and implement changes to existing documentation.
- Conduct Quality control, inspection tasks as necessary to confirm conformance of incoming, stored, or outgoing product.
- Collect information and respond to Compliance enquiries and or write reports for colleagues and Managers.
- Support the investigation process for product and service failures; using suitable problem-solving techniques to identify root cause and necessary correction and corrective actions. Compile information into RCCA and Customer reports.
- After training, to Review of Customer Specifications and Contractual Terms, identifying potential variations between Company's standard offering and Customer's requirements.
- To undergo training (where necessary) to perform Internal Quality Audits and report against ISO9001/AS9120 standards and company process documentation.
Knowledge and Abilities Required:
**Skills**:Experience of a similar role within a manufacturing or distribution company or a willingness to learn and develop a career in Quality.
Have a willing, enthusiastic "Can Do" attitude and desire to develop and expand knowledge in Quality
Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in MS systems, particularly MS Word and Excel
Strong attention to detail, be accurate in their work with an enquiring mind
Preferably, with knowledge of ISO9001.
Preferably, with experience of working in the Aerospace / Defence industry, within an Inspection, Quality or Test role.
