About The Role

**Location**:Christchurch
**Pay and Benefits**:Monday to Friday - £13.50 per hour, Saturday £14.78 per hour, Sunday £15.29 per hour
5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata, DBS check, full induction, relevant and ongoing training (including The Care Certificate) On-going support from a dedicated Team Leader, Case Manager, and HR department.

**Hours**:Bank hours to cover annual leave and sickness, typical shifts could be 24.25 hours from 9.45am to 10am the following day, 9.45am to 5pm (7.25 hours), 4.45pm to 10am the following day (17.25 hours). Due to the nature of the role, some shifts may require covering at short notice. 24 hour care in place. Weekend working likely.

**Essential **:Supporting adults with Acquired Brain Injury and aware of physical, emotional, behavioural, and cognitive difficulties.
**Driver** - You will be required to drive Francis' car, a full driving licence will be required.

There are no animals in the family home however when visiting his parents they do have a dog.
**Desirable**:Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy. An interest in carp angling.

Francis, born in 1975, is very independent by nature and enjoys accessing the community and travelling. He is a huge fan of music and loves to go to gigs and concerts, along with a varied range of activities he also enjoys, he is very friendly and has an easy-going outlook. He lives in his own bungalow and is supported by a team of Support Workers; his parents live close by and see Francis on a regular basis.

Francis sustained a brain injury which resulted in significant cognitive deficits and physical disabilities, he makes use of an attendant controlled wheelchair. He is virtually blind in his left eye with reduced mobility. With support, he leads a full, active and happy life.

You will be joining a small care team where you will be taking direction from the Team Leader to ensure that Francis receives all the care he needs. Francis will require assistance with all of his daily living and household chores.

**Main Skills and Behaviours**
You should have experience of working with someone who has acquired brain injury and be able to work with specialist equipment, (training will be provided). You may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.

Naturally, you will be confident and comfortable working in Francis’ own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family. By nature, you should be friendly, approachable and have an encouraging approach.

Great organisational skills, being punctual, being patient, and being reliable are qualities that Francis relies on so these are key in supporting him.
