Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Pay and Benefits: Monday to Friday - £14.50 per hour, Saturday £15.78 per hour, Sunday £16.29 per hour.Bank Holidays, Christmas Day and New Years Day are paid at double the normal hourly rate.

5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata, DBS check, full induction, relevant and ongoing training (including The Care Certificate) On-going support from a dedicated Team Leader, Case Manager, and HR Department.

Hours: Bank hours available on an ad hoc basis to cover absences of the current care team.
Typical shifts could be 24.25 hours from 9.45am to 10:00am the following day, 9.45am to 5:00pm (7.25 hours), 4.45pm to 10:00am the following day (17.25 hours). Due to the nature of the role, some shifts may require covering at short notice.

Essential : Supporting adults with Acquired Brain Injury and aware of physical, emotional, behavioural, and cognitive difficulties.
Driver -You will be required to drive Francis' car. A full UK Drivers licence is therefore essential.

Desirable: Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy.

There are no pets in thefamilyhome, however his parents do have a dog.

Interviews and Start Date: As and when applications are received, these may be carried out by video interview and looking to start as soon as possible however will wait for the right applicant (subject to satisfactory employment checks)

Francis, born in 1975, is very independent by nature and enjoys accessing the community and travelling. He is a huge fan of music and loves to go to gigs and concerts, along with a varied range of activities he also enjoys. He is very friendly and has an easy-going outlook. He lives in his own bungalow and is supported by a team of Support Workers, providing support 24 hours a day. Francis' parents live close by and see him on a regular basis.

Francis sustained a brain injury which resulted in significant cognitive deficits and physical disabilities, he makes use of an attendant controlled wheelchair. He is virtually blind in his left eye with reduced mobility. With support, he leads a full, active and happy life.

You will be joining a small care team of dedicated Support Workers where you will be taking direction from the Team Leader to ensure that Francis receives all the care he needs. Francis will require assistance with all of his daily living and household chores.

This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role, this is wonderful opportunity to join a supportive family and care team where you can make a real difference to Francis life by maximising his opportunities and promoting his independence wherever possible, a truly rewarding role for someone who is able to communicate effectively and an ability to work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth and compassion.
