**Location**:Christchurch, Dorset
**Pay and Benefits**:Monday to Friday - £14.50 per hour, Saturday £15.78 per hour, Sunday £16.29 per hour. Bank Holidays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are paid at double the normal hourly rate.

5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata, DBS check, full induction, relevant and ongoing training (including The Care Certificate) On-going support from a dedicated Team Leader, Case Manager, and HR Department.

**Hours**:Bank hours available on an ad hoc basis to cover absences of the current care team.
Typical shifts could be 24.25 hours from 9.45am to 10:00am the following day, 9.45am to 5:00pm (7.25 hours), 4.45pm to 10:00am the following day (17.25 hours). Due to the nature of the role, some shifts may require covering at short notice.

**Essential **:Supporting adults with Acquired Brain Injury and aware of physical, emotional, behavioural, and cognitive difficulties.
**Driver** - You will be required to drive Francis' car. A full UK Drivers licence is therefore essential.

**Desirable**:Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy.
- There are no pets in the family home, however his parents do have a dog.

Francis, born in 1975, is very independent by nature and enjoys accessing the community and travelling. He is a huge fan of music and loves to go to gigs and concerts, along with a varied range of activities he also enjoys. He is very friendly and has an easy-going outlook. He lives in his own bungalow and is supported by a team of Support Workers, providing support 24 hours a day. Francis' parents live close by and see him on a regular basis.

Francis sustained a brain injury which resulted in significant cognitive deficits and physical disabilities, he makes use of an attendant controlled wheelchair. He is virtually blind in his left eye with reduced mobility. With support, he leads a full, active and happy life.

You will be joining a small care team of dedicated Support Workers where you will be taking direction from the Team Leader to ensure that Francis receives all the care he needs. Francis will require assistance with all of his daily living and household chores.

**Main Skills and Behaviours**
The Support Worker should have experience of working with someone who has acquired brain injury and be able to work with specialist equipment, (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.

The Support Worker will need to be confident and comfortable working in Francis’ own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of him and his family. By nature, the ideal Support Worker should be friendly, approachable and have an encouraging approach.

Great organisational skills, being punctual, being patient, and being reliable are qualities that Francis relies on so these are key in supporting him.
- A full UK Drivers licence is essential to enable Francis to participate in the activities, hobbies and interests he enjoys.**Safeguarding**
