Job Summary
Provide a comprehensive administration service to support the ward, including
undertaking traditional administration activities and utilising several NHS IT systems.
The role is within an active busy clinical environment and does entail some patient
and customer facing work.
Input data onto PARIS to ensure that patient electronic data is kept up to date.
This includes ensuring relevant information is inputted for admissions, home
leave, AWOL patients, and discharges. Uploading relevant documents, and
ensuring paper held documents are tracked on the system.
Ensuring that patient documents on PARIS are appropriately uploaded and
completed at the point of patient discharge.
Ensure complete patient record is ended on PARIS.
Communicate patient discharge to GP and send discharge prescription to
them.
Produce written protocols for administrative procedures.

Adhere to records management policy at all times
Perform telephone duties, taking messages and relaying accurate information to the relevant sources, ensuring polite and courteous telephone manner at all times.
Act as the initial point of contact for visitors onto the ward - patients,
relatives/carers, other professionals i.e., Community Nurses, Social Workers, solicitors, greeting them in a courteous and positive manner. Ensuring the fire register is completed on entry.
Ensure welcome pack is available to newly admitted patients and their
relative/carer
Act as a liaison between the ward and other services.
