**GROUP WORK LEAD**

This is a 16 hour post across 2 working days.
- The preferred working days would be on a Tuesday and Wednesday, and you would need to be available to work 8 hours between the hours of 10am and 8pm depending on the rota in that term / half term.
- Applications for term time only would be considered, with the potential for a 2.5 day / 20 hour post within this arrangement.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**

To plan and deliver our Managing Emotions / other programmes to Young People ages 11 to 25, and their families, as part of our outreach work in local secondary schools and at our centre in Leigh Park.
- To plan & deliver a Managing Emotion courses to groups of 6 to 10 young people for a period of 6 weeks.
- To have excellent planning and strategic skills to maintain a rolling programme of multiple groups across multiple locations.
- To support the management and administration for the project, including efficient reporting and monitoring.
- To ensure the delivery of the project against a high standard of governance across all policies and process requirements, including but not limited to safeguarding, health and safety and GDPR.
- To create and develop new programmes for children, young people and families, based on local need and demand.

- Key holder and building open / closure responsibilities.
- Availability to work evenings and cover other colleagues occasionally by arrangement.
- First Aider and Fire Warden.
- Participate in all requested training, supervision, and team meetings.
- Any other reasonable tasks as set by your line manager.
- Confident and capable user of Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft 365).

**Person Specification**

**Essential Criteria**
- You don’t need to have a formal training qualification, but we would like to hear that you have a good standard of recent experience **creating new programmes and delivering** **programmes** **(sessions, courses, training), as the lead,** for children / young people.
- Experience of delivering **therapeutic services OR youth work** to young people in a group setting.
- Awareness of contemporary issues affecting children, young people, and families.
- Organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to plan, make effective decisions, prioritise workloads and manage deadlines.
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills, to a standard that can contribute to reports to management and funders.
- Must be a driver with use of own car.
- Ability to use databases and Office 365 with good IT skills.

**Desirable**
- Level 3 certificate, diploma, or equivalent in a related area - for example Health and Social Care, Youth Work.
- Counselling Skills certificate level 3 or above.
- Knowledge of the local voluntary / statutory sector.
