The roleWe're growing - fast - and have big ambitions across both the consultancy and technology spaces In order to achieve these ambitions, we're hiringa Business Data Analyst to deliver top quality project and programme delivery for our clients. You will own client relationships with a variety of business units, across all levels. You will disseminate business requirements into technical vision, navigatingboth systems and processes. You will work hand in hand with design & development teams in order to bring that vision to life. You will explore data using core SQL skills and be able to present this back to key stakeholders, with simple yet elegant insights.These insights will continue to drive the evolution of the data assets and expose key use cases. Key outputs for the role:Assessing the As-Is Able to capture the detailed as-is data ecosystem for a large scale organisation, including systems architecture,governance (functional and non-functional) Capable of understanding detail to table / column level and decipher maturity and suitability of solutions, assessing risks and opportunities for improvement Able to present the As-Is picture in a clear and concisemanner in order to influence logical next steps, omitting technical language and driven from business context Ability to understand detailed business logic which exists within a given data ecosystem (in some cases via unpicking code) and represent to a wide,less-technical audience (eg PowerPoint) Experience working as a Senior Data Business Analyst or Senior Data Solution Lead in a highly complex, data led environment Proven experience owning relationships with key stakeholders, building strong rapport and trustat all levels Ability to create high quality documentation, clearly articulating the as is and to be solutions, with clear understanding of the business context and impact Appetite to disseminate business processes in a logical way, challenge the norm andconnect the dots through data, providing high value theories Ability to articulate ideas to both to business and technical teams, leveraging experience on both sides in order to gain buy in and drive powerful solutions Background in previous data roles withindesign, development or analysis teams using SQL exploratory skills in order to ratify assumptions Previous work experience within a BI, Marketing or Finance setting, working to enhance data assets to solve business problems with data Understanding the NeedAble to proactively engage with various levels of the business stakeholders in order to understand the differing perspectives on requirement and project value Consolidate and translate requirements into high-quality documentation, adding own business contextand opinion to play back to stakeholders Able to represent the customer needs and articulate the value in what is being delivered through the means of story telling Confident in challenging the norm in an effective and empathic way Develop a deep understandingof the client's data ecosystem to confidently influence business decisions backed with clearly understood and well thought-through outcomes Be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and thrive in identifying the answer Defining the Solution Work withtechnical delivery colleagues to steer solution definition in line with need, including both functional and non
- functional requirements Collaborate to define detailed designs, including requirements traceability to ensure business value is met Use knowledgeof tools, systems and technology to refine proposed solutions and ensure they meet the needs of our clients Provide input into user stories in order to drive detailed understanding of the value creation and business need, assist with prioritisation in linewith business criticality Development of product backlogs to ensure features are prioritised correctly and meet the original needs of the client Own the communication of value delivery to the client and constantly seek further opportunities to deliver increasedvalue Consistently look for opportunities to build additional use cases on data assets created to elevate asset value and embed further into the business Maintain holistic view of delivery progress in line with customer need, and feedback to project management(or similar) of risks, issues and blockers, working to tweak designs and priorities with agility Work closely with clients and project teams to ensure data assets are actively adopted by end users to maximise client value and drive business activation
