What you’ll do

The Data Strategy CoE team leads the design and delivery of the overall UK Data Strategy on behalf of Data and Analytics and Vodafone UK - maximising incremental value from data through the design & delivery of ‘Valuable’, ‘Accessible’ & ‘Trusted’ data. Now is a really exciting time to join the team as we begin our data transformation journey to implement this agreed data strategy working across all of Vodafone UK. 


This role supports the organization's data governance program within a federated ownership model. You will collaborate closely with stewards across lines of business (LoBs) as well as data custodians to drive superior quality business requirements are captured and able to be translated into data requirements. You will support areas of low Data Governance maturity in improving their knowledge as well as provide support for root cause analysis on risks, issues and opportunities to ensure critical data is being effectively managed to support the data strategy and ensure data is in alignment with business needs.

Wider responsibilities include:

Support Stewards:
- Partner with stewards to translate business requirements into clear and concise data requirements.
- Facilitate communication between data stewards and IT teams to ensure understanding and alignment.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data dictionaries and business glossaries for LoBs.

Metadata Management:
- Understand metadata requirements for effective data management within the federated model.
- Assist in the development and implementation of standardised metadata practices across LoBs.
- Work with stewards to ensure accurate and complete metadata capture for data assets.

Issue Resolution and Root Cause Analysis:

- Capture a sufficient level of detail when documenting data-related risks, issues, and opportunities across LoBs.
- Perform root cause analysis on key data issues to identify underlying causes.
- Creation of potential options for solutions to resolve data issues for recommendation and approval.

Reporting and Communication:
- Develop reports and presentations to communicate data governance insights to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Data Governance Lead and Data Governance Managers to maintain and update data governance documentation.
- Participate in LoB data governance forums to share best practices and address data-related concerns

Who You Are

• Data Governance: Good understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Business Acumen: Ability to understand and translate and document business requirements and support data-driven solutions.
• Business Analysis: Proficient using business analysis skills to analyse requirements for data to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of data issues.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and people skills
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to critically analyse issues and develop effective options for recommendation.
