A fantastic new opportunity working as a Payroll Clerk based in a Public Sector and Government organisation based in Salford. The position is an immediate start for a 3-month temporary role. The hourly rate advertised for this is between £10.00 - £12.00.

**Description**

**The key responsibilities for the Payroll Clerk will include, but may not be limited to;**
- Maintain accurate data and input temporary and permanent changes to staff records
- Reconciliation of HR input data
- Pay calculations, ensuring all payments are correct and appropriate
- Make complex calculations daily, to verify ESR assessments of arrears or overpayments made
- Analyse, interpret and calculate information from paper input and electronic systems
- Responsible for making manual calculations of pay, BACS and faster payments
- Plan, manage, collate and input information on to the electronic staff record
- Liaise with the Payroll Team Leader to ensure work schedule is in accordance with agreed timetables
- Response to ESR / Payroll queries
- Provide information to Internal / External Auditors to assist with periodic reviews

**Profile**

The successful Payroll Clerk must possess the following skill set and experience;
- Background working within Payroll
- Knowledge of HMRC and National Insurance regulations
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Payroll procedures
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Able to use own initiative and work to a tight deadline
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to problem solve issues and to organise own workload and meet deadlines
