This exciting new role requires you to be part of the development and delivery of Darlington Borough Council’s ‘Staying Close’ project. This 2 year pilot project aims to support care experienced young people who are living in a children’s home or supported accommodation with their transition to adulthood and prepare them to live on their own. You will be responsible for working with others to drive forward the vision for ‘Staying Close’ in Darlington and making it happen Working closely with the Leaving Care Team, Residential Children’s Homes and Supported Accommodation providers, you and your colleagues will be required to directly support the young people who are preparing to move on into their own home and beyond. You will help these young people develop the knowledge and skills they require to run a home, take care of themselves, and navigate adulthood. You will complement the role of the Personal Advisors, Residential Workers and Key Workers and provide care experienced young people with enhanced support during this transition period in their lives ensuring they achieve good outcomes. You will able to work flexibly which will include some weekend and evening working to support young people.
