Events and Customer Service Assistant

We are looking for an adaptable and energetic Events and Customer Service Assistant to deliver exceptional customer service and contribute positively to our growing events and programming business.
The Events and Customer Service Assistant will support our Commercial Directorate to generate income through the hire of events space, providing a venue for filming, group accommodation, creative programming and facilitating the seamless operation of internal and parent-facing events to the highest standard. Based at our Clifton campus, the Events and Customer Service Assistant will work alongside the Head of Events, Experience and Programming, Commercial Development Manager and catering and hospitality partners to facilitate provision of top-quality events for all our customers.
The role requires a commitment to delivering events to an exceptional standard, flexibility and commitment to 5* customer service to all customers and stakeholders. Events take place at the College take place throughout the year, and the role, by its nature, will include some weekend and evening working.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Support the Events, Experience and Programming Team in developing and delivering a programme of external commercial and internal events, ensuring our clients’ expectations are exceeded and the operational aspects of all events are appropriately managed.
- Undertake research to support the development of inspiring and impactful events.
- Assisting with customer queries, site tours and location recce
- Assisting with the preparation of events, from administrative tasks and documentation to arranging event staff, preparing spaces (including setting/resetting rooms) and ensuring all required equipment and hospitality is booked.
- Undertaking pre-event checks, ensuring spaces are clean, well presented and safe
- Being the primary point of contact to customers on the day of their event, providing a warm, welcoming and professional service, to ensure everyone has a positive experience.
- Seeing events through from start to finish, ensuring customer needs are met and problem-solving as required.
- Ensuring the health and safety of guests and supporting building evacuation, if required. Assisting with office tasks, including bookings, equipment hire, signage creation and managing the distribution of promotional material for upcoming events, managing day to day contact with external suppliers and collecting audience data and feedback after events.
- Undertaking any other duties as allocated by the Head of Events, Experience and Programming as appropriate to the role and Department business.

**Required Qualifications & experience**
- Evidenced experience in an operational hospitality or ‘audience experience-focussed’ role
- Proven ability in maintaining the highest standards of customer care, including problem solving, clear communication and patience when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Microsoft Office / Google proficiency
Desirable
- Relevant degree or equivalent vocational qualification
- Food Hygiene certificate
- First Aid Qualification
This is a permanent, part time (32 hours per week -0.8 FTE) position and the rate of pay is £17,600 to £20,000 actual per annum (£22,000 to £25,000 FTE per annum)
