Are you looking for an opportunity to be at the cutting edge of Research? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Research Governance Assistant to join the Research & Development Data Governance Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

Previous experience in working within research is advantageous, however in house training will be provided to enhance your skills and knowledge. The post will primarily based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the potential for cross working across UHB sites may be required. This is a 12 month fixed term post in the first instance, requiring high quality administrative support to the Research Data Governance team.

The post holder is required to work on their own initiative and manage their own workload; this will require excellent planning and organisational skills. The post holder must be able to communicate information to a wide range of staff group including consultants and external stakeholders. The post holder is expected to develop a good understanding of project management and techniques. Using their own judgement, the post holder will be able to prioritise their work effectively.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:

- To contribute to the revision of local policies and procedures in addition to their implementation. This will include contributing to the development of the RD&I Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) pertaining to administrative processes.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of RD&I databases of research projects and provide regular and ad-hoc reports on the research portfolio.
- To provide a complete confidential administrative service. To ensure organisation of meetings, preparation of agendas and taking of minutes. To organise case conferences, seminars, training events and travel arrangements and assume responsibility for the daily management of the diaries. All work to be carried out on own initiative, without direct supervision and to tight deadlines, in order to achieve Trust standard and targets and KPIs.
- Responsible for maintaining all project administration, recording systems and documentation, including version control, ensuring that documents are readily available for use by the project team and for audit purposes.
- Produce written reports, process flow charts and presentations using a range of Microsoft software/tools
