An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Medical Support Secretary to Join the Cardiology Department based at Royal Preston Hospital.

We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Band 3 Support Secretary on a Full time basis of 37.5 Hrs,

You will be a self-motivated individual with proven secretarial skills which include digital audio typing with speeds of 50 - 60 words per minute, minute taking, diary management and an excellent telephone manner with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You will be calm under pressure and have a willingness to learn new tasks.

A broad experience of IT systems including digital dictation, Microsoft teams and previous experience within a secretarial/admin position are essential in this role.

You will be a member of a team providing secretarial and administrative support to Consultants, Junior medial staff and the wider team. They will support the efficient channelling of communication between medical staff, GP's, patients, relatives, members of the public and other discipline's within the Trust.

You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.

**Duties to include, but not be limited to**:

- Typing audio typing of letters/ reports
- Providing cover in the absence of Line Manager/colleagues
- General Admin/Secretarial duties
- Be the point of contact for day to day enquires
- Be the point of contact for enquires from patients, GPs and other outside parties, referring where necessary to more senior staff.
- Responding to external and internal telephone queries from staff, patients and others and referring to appropriate person.
- Manage electronic calendars, organising meetings as required and accurate maintenance of an electronic diary with effective communication of diary commitments.
- Provide the admin/Secretarial support for Consultants and the wider team.
- Maintain efficient and effective administrative systems and message taking.
- Provide secretarial and administrative support when other members of the team are absent from sickness or annual leave.
- Taking, typing and distribution of minutes.
