College Shop Assistant

**The Post**

The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking College Shop Assistant to work in the College’s Shop and Reprographics Department. The successful applicant will be responsible for purchasing stock, liaising with suppliers, receiving deliveries, charging purchases to the correct department, carrying out stock-takes and maintaining files and records. You will be required to sell stationery and consumable items to both students and staff.

The post is available on a permanent, part-time basis (64.65%). The post holder will be required to work term-time only from 8.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only (39 weeks per year) with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day.

The post requires excellent communication, time management, numeracy and organisational skills, along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and well-developed administrative skills. You will also need to be able to multi-task and have a clear understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality where appropriate.

The post carries an expectation for some very occasional mandatory evening activities (Open Evenings). However, there are numerous optional opportunities for evening work (Interview Evenings for Students) should the postholder be interested in them for additional remuneration.

**Department**

The Department is housed in the County Building. There are two other members of the team, who work closely together.

**Salary**

The starting salary for this post is £13,848.68 (£21,421 FTE) per annum. Progression is on an annual increment scale to £14,531.38 (£22,477 FTE) per annum.
