An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CAMHS (CBT) Practitioner to join Hammersmith and Fulham Tier 2 Community CAMHS team in a training and progression (band 6-7) role. The team is comprised of psychologists, assistant psychologists, trainee and qualified CBT practitioners, family therapists, child psychotherapists, social workers and Child Wellbeing Practitioners.
We are very pleased to have created this new role as part of ongoing investment and service expansion. This new role is anticipated to increase access to CBT for children, young people and their families/carers within the service.
The team is a large multidisciplinary team, offering a range of targeted, early interventions to children and young people age 0-18 who are experiencing mild-moderate mental health difficulties.
We are particularly interested in the development of our service user forum across the wider CAMHS team. We would welcome any experience of working with this group, new ways of accessing and integrating feedback to improve our CAMHS service.
The team is constantly evolving and developing and West London Mental Health Trust are highly motivated to offer ongoing staff development and training.
The post holder will join an established multi-disciplinary CAMHS which is responsible for providing Tier 2 mental health services within the borough. The post holder will work in Hammersmith and Fulham Community CAMHS Team with young people aged 0- 18 years. The clinic setting is based in central Hammersmith and there may be some limited travel to other parts of the borough to attend community settings.
The post holder will provide mental health support and treatment for children and young people, carrying out comprehensive specialist psychological assessments
(including risk and the development of risk management plans) and offering specialist intervention packages using a variety of treatment models. In addition, the staff member will be expected to offer clinical supervision within the CBT discipline.
The current team consists of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists, Systemic Family Therapists, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Assistant Psychologist, Clinical Associate Psychologist, Social Workers, Trainee CBT Therapist and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, providing multiple perspectives and allowing for MDT discussions.
The role would also include developing the SUI forum; bringing in new ideas and approaches in order to hear those voices that can speak to the experience of using the service.
West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse providers of mental health, community and social care in the UK.

Together, we’re committed to promoting hope and wellbeing, working with patients, service users, carers, families and partners across the communities we serve.
We are keen to ensure that our workforce reflects the community it serves, particularly in terms of ethnicity, gender, disability, LGBTQ+ and experience of mental illness.
