To be successful, you will need to be a problem solver, with the ability to quickly build relationships with internal and external customers. You will already have relevant experience of working within a HR function and ideally you should possess CIPD Level 5 or be working towards or willing to work towards this qualification. You should have a high level of IT competence and some technical HR software skills, with the ability to learn new packages quickly.

Recruitment will be at the heart of your job, and so you should have the confidence to promote the college to attract the best talent and use digital recruitment platforms and social media to best effect. We’ll also expect you to provide generalist HR advice, support and guidance to managers and staff on the full range of human resources issues including recruitment, absence, conditions of service, policies, employment legislation and best practice. A working knowledge of employee relations, safer recruitment and safeguarding in relation to young people would be desirable.
