**Job summary**:
The roles are based in Finance Shared Services Division (FSSD) within the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC), and also provides transactional finance services to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS), Valuation Tribunal Service (VTS) and Regulator for Social Housing (RSH). FSSD consists of a number of cross-functional teams who deliver finance transactional services and support to a customer base of 3000 users.
We are recruiting up to 3 posts which will work within the finance operation team.
**Job description**:
Key responsibilities include:
- Working as part of the finance operational team, providing advice and support to Finance SAP users in DLUHC, PINS, VTS and RSH.
- To carry out a range of transactional tasks within agreed service levels.
- Accurately record financial transactions in a prompt timely way, adhering to the rules and controls in place to protect government funds.
- Monitor team inbox ensuring all enquiries are answered in a timely manor and prioritising enquiries escalated to you to achieve a quick solution.
- Liaise with customers and clients to resolve outstanding queries.
- Maintain constant vigilance for possible fraud.
- Communicate with the rest of the team to help clarify goals on a daily basis.
- Assist with any general finance tasks as required, ensuring accurate audit trails are maintained.
- Carry out data collection exercises and collate statistics for reporting purposes.
- Assist in the regular review of the team’s work instructions and process maps, ensuring all instructions are up-to-date and accurately reflect current processes.

Essential skills:
- Customer service: the ability to deliver a quality customer service; organised to ensure service delivery objectives are met and be flexible to meet tight deadlines.
- Work collaboratively; the ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to support delivery of business outcomes. Working with remote colleagues.
- Excellent communications skills : both written and verbal.
- Strong organisations skills; the ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks.
Desirable skills:
- Previous experience in a finance and/or wider operations role
- Experience of using finance software SAP
- Digital skills; experience using Microsoft 365, excel, word, teams and outlook.
