**DESIGNATION**: SENIOR SUPPORT WORKER

**RESPONSIBLE TO**: MANAGER

**ROLE**:
1. To assist and support the Manager in providing and maintaining Services in a supportive atmosphere in which relationships are built and maintained.

2. To promote individual’s rights and dignity.

3. To provide conditions of growth with regard to physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs.

4. To develop and implement Care Packages through assessment, monitoring and evaluation of individual needs.

**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

5. To head and support the Team in providing Service packages tailored to meet individual needs, choices and preferences.

6. To facilitate skills development, maintenance, assessment, programme planning and evaluation.

7. To share knowledge and skills with staff and take part in staff development programmes.

8. Assist the Manager in the recruitment and selection of staff.

9. Assist the Manager in maintaining budgets effectively.

10. To work within a Key Worker system both in a supervisory capacity and as a Key Worker.

11. To work effectively within Line Management Structures.

12. To liaise with other professionals and carers, effectively promoting multi
- disciplinary individual person-centred services.

13. To administer medication in accordance with procedure, and as prescribed by the General Practitioner.

14.

a. To follow the professional Codes of Conduct and organisational Policies and Procedures.

b. Work in a way that their place of work meets the Care Quality Commission Essential Outcomes.

15. Participate in courses/training events as required and update personal Continuous Professional Development records.

16. To undergo infection control training and to comply with all aspects of Alphonsus infection control measures.

17. To comply with both organisational and West Midlands Safeguarding Policy.

18. Any other duties which may reasonably fall within the scope of this post.
