Senior Out of School Care Practitioner

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Out of School Care lead Practitioner to work from 1.30pm-6.00pm

The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring children are taken to and collected safely from school and taken from/to the Out of School Care via minibus/coach.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Mentoring and staff supervision
- Leading a team
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the settings aims and objectives in liaison with management.
- Foster and develop positive and professional relationships with parents and carers
- Facilitate a fun packed programme which delivers a planned range of activities e.g. arts and crafts, drama, sport, games and music in line with Building the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence and the Playwork Principles
- To ensure records are properly maintained and monitored
- Ensure risk assessments are carried out and that all safety checks are completed
- Work with children and families to provide a stimulating learning environment both indoors and outdoors.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experiences**:

- A relevant qualification (i.e. SVQ3 in Childhood Practice or equivalent) and be willing to undertake any training and development where required; (Preferred SVQ level 4 - however the opportunity to gain this qualification can be considered)
- Knowledge of GIRFEC, Realising the Ambition, Play work Principles and Out to Play documentation.
- Experience of working in a childcare setting.The hours of work for the post are 22.5 hours per week (more hours may be possible during school holidays)

**Salary**: £13.50 per hour
