We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Sister to work within our Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Chichester, West Sussex. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and hardworking individual to join our team. You must possess good communication skills and have a passion for staff and team development.
Our unit has successfully achieved the Gold Bliss Accreditation and now working towards Family Integrated Care and improving our work towards Breast Feeding Initiative accreditation.
To support the Matron, Senior Nurses and wider teams to ensure high quality family centred care is delivered within our services to babies and families.
To lead and take responsibility for managing a team of nurses in the initiation and delivery of high quality of care. This will incorporate clinical assurance, infection and prevention control measure, human resources, finance and procurement, family experience, safeguarding and patient safety initiatives.

To lead and manage the clinical team and patient services at ward level. To develop clear systems to ensure the delivery of family centred care which is evidence based and tailored to patient need.

**Responsibilities**:
Assume site specific responsibility for the day to day nursing management of Neonatal Unit/Special Care Baby Unit.

Manage the ward with r e s pon s i b ili ty f or w o r k f o rc e p l ann i ng, m anag i ng s i c k ne s s ab s en c e, r e cr u i t m ent and s e l e c t i on, p r o f e ss i onal de v e l op m ent and pe r f o r m an c e r e vi ew of the tea m. Responsible for ensuring spending is within ward budget.

Act as a role model in clinical practice working within the clinical areas to maintain professional competence and credibility in Neonatal nursing.
