I am recruiting for a School Administrator/Receptionist for a Secondary School in Southport. This role is to start after Easter until the end of the academic year, working Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.

The main purpose of the role is to provide general clerical or administrative support to the school under the direction of the office manager and/or senior staff.

The core responsibilities and task are:

- Undertake reception duties, answering routine telephone and face to face enquiries and signing in visitors.
- Assist with pupil first aid and welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff etc.
- Assist with arrangements for school visits by school nurse, photographer etc..
- Completion of routine forms, registers and school meals etc..
- Maintain manual and computerised records/management information systems e.g SIMS.
- Undertake typing, word processing and other IT based tasks.
- Collect and arrange all external mail. Sort and distribute internal mail.
- Operate office equipment e.g photocopier, computer etc..
- Arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies.
- Undertake routine financial administration e.g collection and recording of monies handed in at reception.

A clerical/administrative background, with knowledge of SIMS is preferred

The post holder is also expected:

- To play a full part in the life of the school community and support its mission and ethos.
- Encourage staff and students to follow this example
- To actively promote the school’s corporate policies.
- To continue personal development as agreed.

Employees will be expected to comply with any reasonable request from the manager to undertake work of a similar level that is not specified in the job description.

Employees are expected to be courteous to colleagues and provide a welcoming environment to visitors and telephone callers.

**Salary**: £90.00-£110.00 per day
