**Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Pain Management, Band 8c**

**Immediate start, **Fixed term contract 12 months.**
- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 0.7WTE Band 8c Clinical Psychologist (1 year Fixed Term Post) to lead on developing, delivering and evaluating a clinical psychology pain management service. This post will provide psychological support for adults with chronic/persistent pain. This work will include psychological assessment and treatment psychological management of a complex and diverse range of patients within the pain management service. This will involve working closely with the MDT staff within the pain management service.Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist with an interest in Clinical Health Psychology who can work show autonomy and resilience. Clinical supervision will be provided by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

It is essential that the post-holder will have a doctorate level clinical psychology professional qualification and be HCPC registered

The post holder will be employed by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The post will comprise of a mix of onsite and remote working involving some virtual appointments. When onsite the post holder will be primarily based at: Nottingham University Hospital, City Hospital Campus but will at times be required to also work from QMC Campus and possibly community venues. Applicants must have the personal qualities and resilience to be able to work in a busy acute trust setting.

The successful applicant will join our expanding Department of Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology within the trust which provides psychological and/or neuropsychological input to a range medical services to (including e.g. burns, renal, major trauma, cystic fibrosis etc). As a department we have excellent links with the University of Nottingham and the Trent Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.

- A strong interest and enthusiasm for working in clinical health psychology
- Evidence of significant knowledge and substantial post doctorate experience of working in clinical health psychology
- A good working knowledge and experience of evidence-based psychological therapies
- Sound clinical risk assessment and management
- Experience of working safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
- Training and experience of supervising therapists and/or other clinical staff

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Eligibility for Chartered Clinical Psychologist BPS Status and registered as a Clinical Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Post-doctoral training/study in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice and supervision

Desirable criteria
- Additional post doctoral training/study/qualifications in specialised areas illness or health psychology
- Post-qualification accreditation in particular psychotherapeutic approaches e.g.: cognitive behaviour therapy, ACT, Mindfulness, EMDR, etc.
- Specialist training relating to patients with chronic pain and/or chronic medical conditions.

Experience

Essential criteria
- Extensive post qualification experience which should include clinical experience of working with patients with general medical conditions and chronic illnesses.
- Experience of developing a clinical psychology service
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient and residential care settings including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse
