This is an exciting opportunity for 22.5 hours per week Band 3 dietetic assistant to be part of the Home Enteral Feeding Team. The team looks after patients who are at home and rely on enteral feeding tubes for their nutrition. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the team and be based at the City Hospital initially with the possibility of a combination of working from home and the City Hospital in the future.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dietetic assistant to join the Nottinghamshire Home Enteral feeding team based at City hospital working within the wider dietetic department of around 90 staff.
This post will include supporting adults and children on enteral tube feeds in the community. This may include patients in their own homes, at school or care facilities either by face to face review or by telephone.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can communicate clearly in a variety of settings, has excellent IT and organisational skills, plus experience of working with people.

The dietetic service is part of the Therapies and Rehabilitation Service pathway which is one of the pathways that together make up the clinical support division at NUH. We are a diverse pathway of Allied Health professionals and support staff, employing over 600 staff who work together to deliver high quality care. Our HCPC registered Allied Health professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists and our other staff encompass professionals such as nurses, psychologists, administrative, clerical and support workers.

The post holder may be based on either campus of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
**Clinical**
Works under the direction of dietetic staff to support an effective dietetic and nutrition service to patients and carers using agreed protocols. This will include monitoring and review of out patients and community patients in a variety of specialities, working with individuals or groups as required.
Extracts relevant information regarding patient condition, weight and nutritional intake from verbal discussion with dietitians, patients or carers and other health care staff and from patient records and other information. Communicates information gathered to dietitians and other health care staff, in support of patient care using verbal and written methods of communication as required. Information gathered may be of a sensitive nature, requiring tact and persuasion to acquire and explain, for example, information concerning patient weight or diagnosis.
Communicates required nutritional information to patients, relatives and carers where there may be barriers to communication and understanding such as cultural differences, hearing impairment
