Job overview

Would you like to gain dietetic experience in adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) care?

You will become an integral member of our multidisciplinary CF team delivering high quality patient-centred care for Nottinghamshire.

We are an exceptional, dynamic and supportive team with a strong MDT ethos and focus on patient outcomes.

You will be given opportunities for CPD including attendance at national CF updates, behavioral change training, shadowing within other specialities within the wider dietetic department and access to the Dietetic MSc programme at the University of Nottingham.

Main duties of the job

You will provide advice and support the nutritional needs of this complex group of patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

As part of this role you will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills as a CF dietitian.

You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team and support projects to enhance the expected high quality care provided.

You will need to be dedicated and show ambition to continually evaluate working practices to ensure a safe and quality service.

Your work and development will be supported by the more experienced dietitians who will assist you to engage in audit, research and contribute to service development.

The role will also include supporting the wider dietetic department in a reciprocal cover cover arrangement.

The dietetic and nutrition service at Nottingham University Hospitals is a large and friendly department of around 90 staff including assistants and technicians providing dietetic and nutrition support across all areas of the Trust and beyond.

We have close links with the University of Nottingham and take student dietitians for A, B and C placements.

As a service, we are committed to continuing professional development for all our staff through a range of opportunities that include recognised training courses, involvement in service development and audit.

We have supported staff through a number of development opportunities including Masters, PhD and international travelling scholarships.

You should have experience of working as a dietitian, have excellent communication skills, self-motivation, have a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and buys workload within a supportive team. Nutritional support skills are essential.

You will work closely with the MDT as well as other dietetics specialties. You will deliver nutritional counselling and utilise behavioral change techniques to enable patients to manage their condition and improve their quality of life.

- Qualified Dietitian
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Registered with the Health Professions Council.

Desirable criteria
- Member of BDA including specialist group.
