Reed are proud to be able to bring to you a new role with our internationally renowned life science client, in their search for an experienced and inspiring **Senior Account Manager** within their **Retail** department.

**Purpose -**
- To drive and manage selected retail accounts, manage the retail technical and shopping teams to increase profitable growth, create well-structured team alignment and produce excellent customer service. There is a high expectation to exploit all revenuestreams within each customer to increase share of wallet opportunities and grow retail market share.
- Align and work with key teams to target new customers and increase the chance to win percentage.
- To raise the bar in the Retail team function in line with the organisation’s growth strategy to ensure a significant step-change in performance

**Snippet of duties**
- Drive high impact leadership and direction to a team of 5, (sampling and shopping teams), creating empowerment and facilitating employee performance
- Fully understand each customers’ risks and opportunities by creating/adapting customer account plans.
- Understand the retail market, trends and market analysis to allow a more structure approach to current and prospective customer base
- To own all commercial sales from the managed retail accounts, raising the bar in terms of attention to detail, structure and service offered to the customer to maximise potential
- Lead any tender opportunity that you uncover or get presented with
- Gather and collate all market intelligence and data covering market trends and penetration, competitors, products/services and routes to market for the retail and food manufacturing businesses

**About you**
- On-the job experience of working in a technical or commercially facing role
- Experience within the food manufacturing or retail industry
- Understand the food testing industry
- Experience in dealing with customer queries and issue resolution
- Proven experience in working to and exceeding targets
- Strong technical or laboratory skills and practices
- Extensive experience in engaging directly with high profile customers including customer meetings
- Excellent presentation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
