An exciting opportunity has arisen at the **ACU** for a **Programme Officer **to support our work within the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) Secretariat at the ACU.
These roles provide comprehensive, professional and timely **administration **and **support** to Commonwealth Scholarship Commission Scholars registered for courses of postgraduate study at UK institutions across CSC’s Programmes. **Programme Officers** act as the point of contact for a group of UK Universities and are responsible for handling all issues relating to the Scholars within their portfolio of institutions.

**The role**
You will be:
- Contributing to the **efficient administration** of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s Scholarship and Fellowship Programmes
- **Managing a portfolio** of Scholars and Fellows and supporting them throughout their studies
- Liaising with UK universities and other host organisations to place Scholars and support them during their studies
- Provide **administrative support** during the Scholar selection process
- Updating and maintaining effective **information databases** (using a variety of packages).
- Participating in events and undertaking visits to meet with Scholars
**Who are we looking for?**
You will need:
- To be **degree educated.**:
- Relevant experience of working in the **Higher Education Sector** or an **Educational Office** environment and/or in an international development context.
- An understanding of and commitment to providing **excellent customer care.**:
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, including a confident, firm and friendly approach in discussions with individuals at various levels of seniority.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated a high level of motivation and flexibility, and ability to work to deadlines and organise and to take responsibility for own work and for seeing tasks through to completion.
- Commitment to teamwork, with an ability to work independently and show initiative and exercise sound judgement.
- High level of proven competence in the use of **Microsoft Office Suite**, including **Excel**, evidence of database skills, aptitude for learning and using a variety of software packages.
