We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced **Commercial Trading Scheme Underwriter** to join our MGA Business.

We are a successful and dynamic Managing General Agent. We ‘hold the pen‘ of our insurer partners, meaning we can underwrite the products / schemes for them.

We then sell these products through our online trading platform through our network of 650 broker partners across the UK.

**The Role**:
This is a key individual role with the aim of growing a trading team focusing on larger and more complex property and casualty risks.

The role primarily involves developing broker and insurer accounts in line with underwriting appetite by reviewing, quoting and securing GWP.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Meeting strategic growth plans through writing profitable New Business and Renewals, achieving set targets.
- Support the Commercial Trading Scheme Underwriter lead and Head of Underwriting in the profitable development of broker and insurer accounts.
- Utilise a high level of underwriting authority granted by the HoU to act as a technical referral point for scheme business.
- Lead responsibility for Commercial Combined renewals and existing business.
- Support on Property Owners portfolio New Business.
- Support on Hair & Beauty / Tattoo schemes.
- Support brand new scheme servicing.
- Provide back up support to the Underwriting Service Department with Security scheme referrals and online Assist referrals when required.
- Work closely with our Key Account Managers and Underwriting Service Department to grow and manage broker relations.

**Knowledge, skills and experience**:

- Ideally Cert CII or progress towards completion
- Good relevant experience of the commercial insurance industry.
- Strong proven Property and Casualty underwriting technical knowledge.
- Proven track record of achieving targets through writing new business and securing renewals in both Property and Casualty.
- Practical experience of the ability to quickly implement new initiatives.
- Flexibility and resilience - the ability to multi task and turn deadlines around quickly.
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
- Commercial awareness and strong communication skills.

**Salary**: Up to £40,000.00 per year
