The company works within a social and people centric sector, where their relationships with their customers are exceptionally important. Therefore, having a smooth finance function, to enable them to deliver ongoing excellence, is really important.

As Finance Assistant you will be responsible for:

- Monthly billing runs and all elements of the customer invoicing process, you will ensure information is accurately maintained so all invoices are correctly processed and on time in line with our internal timetables
- Timely uploading of Direct Debit collections once invoicing is complete is key, to ensure invoice and other customer payments are allocated to our accounting system as a matter of priority
- Working with the sales and account management teams, you will also take weekly action to ensure any aged debt is continually monitored to maintain cash collection
- You'll also assist in maintaining the staff expenses system and look to enhance the usability of the system whilst keeping the functionality aligned with current legislation
- Responsibility for the monthly invoicing runs
- Daily cash allocation and reconciliation in Accounts and assistance of bank reconciliations in time for month end
- Accurate successful uploads of monthly customer Direct Debit collections
- Ownership of debt collection, working closely with the sales and account management team
- Support in the administration and operation of the expenses system and assist in the reporting of employee expenses
- Review customer contracts received from DocuSign, as part of the new customer setup process and file for future use

You must be/have:

- Intermediate accountancy knowledge preferred
- A-level or equivalent education and relevant training necessary
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office. Good knowledge of Excel is essential
- Study support offered for AAT
- A self-starter who can work alone or as part of a team
- Self-confident, showing initiative and with good judgement and decision-making capabilities
- Striving for constant improvement with a good eye for detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Keen to learn new computer systems and programs
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Confidentiality and discretion are essential
- A genuine interest in the business, with a passion to want to succeed in the role

What's in it for me?

The salary is £24,000 - £27,000 DOE, plus quarterly bonus and study support for AAT. 25 days holiday, life assurance, private medical after successful completion of probation and pension. Free parking available too Hours of work are: 37.5 hour a week, 9.00amto 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
